Integers Solving Online

Introduction :

The numbers 0, 1, -1, 2, -2 … are known as integers of which 1, 2, 3 … are known as positive integers and -1, -2, -3… are known as negative integers. The collection of all integers are represented by the English letter Z. Thus Z = {…, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3…}. We observe that all whole numbers are integers.


Fundamental operations on integers solving online:


The followings are the fundamental operations on integer solving online:


  • Directed numbers
  • Integers and order in number line
  • Addition and Subtraction of integers
  • Multiplication of integers
  • Division of integers


Directed numbers:

East-west, right-left, up-down and profit-loss are few examples of opposites. Numbers associated with direction are known as directed numbers

Integers and order in numbers line:

Positive number zero and negative numbers together form integers. We can represent the set of integers by the letter Z. Therefore Z: … – 3, – 2, – 1, 0, + 1, + 2, + 3…  + 1, + 2, + 3 … are known as positive integers. -1, – 2, – 3 … are named as negative integers.

Multiplication of integers:

Multiplication is a collection form of addition of the same number several times.

Division of integers:

Division is simply represented as repeated subtraction or equal distribution.


Examples for integers solving online:


The following examples used to describe the integers solving online:

Example 1:

Mary deposited six hundred rupees in the bank. She took the amount of two hundred rupees from the bank. How did she note this amount?

Solution:

Mary deposited Rs. 600 ?

Mary withdrew ? Rs. 200.

We use the symbols ?, ? and ?__? to represent the different positions

Example 2: Add (-2) with (-5).

First go to – 2. Then move left by 5 units. We reach – 7.

Therefore (– 2) + (– 5) = – 7.

Example 3: Subtract 3 from 7.

Solution:

Subtract 3 from 7 means, what should be added to 3 to give 7. Clearly the answer is 4.

Example 4: Multiply 2 and 3

Solution:

By repeated addition we get

2 × 3 = 2 + 2 + 2 = 6.

The product of two positive integers are positive integer.
